What is NUFP?
The NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program mentors students from traditionally underrepresented and historically disenfranchised populations. This national and campus-based program diversifies and broadens the pipeline for students becoming higher education professionals.
Students and mentors apply together as a pair. If accepted into the program, students are called Fellows and have opportunities for scholarships, on-campus mentorship, and professional development events.
Mission
The mission of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program is to increase the number of historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and/or higher education, including but not limited to those of racial and ethnic-minority background, those with disabilities, and those identifying as LGBTQ.
NUFP at WSU
The NASPA Undergraduate Fellows program at WSU consists of a cohort model, one-on-one meetings with mentors/mentees, and workshops and activities that allow the NUFP fellows to learn about current topics in higher education and student affairs.
Registration for the Spring 2025 Cohort will open soon!
Student Affairs encompasses many aspects of student life on a college campus. For example, here at WSU Pullman, Student Affairs includes residence life, University Recreation, Cougar Health Services, the Center for Student Organizations and Leadership, the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life, Multicultural Student Services, and many more departments and staff committed to enhancing and supporting the student experience. You can see a list of all the areas in WSU Student Affairs here.
